Loading Paper and Envelopes for the HP LaserJet Pro CP1525n and CP1525nw Color Printers
Introduction
This document describes how to load paper and envelopes into the product. Use tray 1 to print a single sheet of paper or an envelope. Use tray 2 to print up to 10 envelopes, or up to 150 sheets of paper.
note:To purchase paper in the United States and Canada, go to the HP Store.
Loading paper
Follow these steps to load paper.
Loading paper in tray 1
Follow these steps to load paper in tray 1.

If the product is in PowerSave mode, press OK to wake up the product.
note:
The product will not pull in the paper if it is in PowerSave mode.

Move the paper guides to their outermost positions.

Place a single sheet of paper into the tray 1 slot, and then slide the paper guides inward so that they rest against the sheet.

Feed the sheet into the tray as far as it will go until the product pulls the paper.
Loading paper in tray 2
Follow these steps to load paper in tray 2.

Pull tray 2 out of the product.

Slide the paper guides to their outermost positions.

note:
To load legal-size paper, extend the tray by pressing and holding the extension tab while pulling the front of the tray outward.

Place the stack of paper, print side up, in the tray, and then make sure that the stack is flat at all four corners.

Slide the paper guides inward so that they rest against the stack of paper.

Push down on the paper to make sure that the paper stack sits below the paper limit tabs on the sides of the tray.

Slide tray 2 into the product.

Loading Envelopes
Before you load and print on envelopes, review the following guidelines.
Envelope Guidelines
-
Do not use envelopes with clasps, snaps, windows, coated linings, self-stick adhesives, or other synthetic materials that are susceptible to heat.

Do not use envelopes that are wrinkled, nicked, stuck together, or otherwise damaged.

If you use envelopes with peel-off adhesive strips, make sure they are approved for use in laser printers.

Only use envelopes recommended for laser printers.

Use envelopes with seams that extend to the corners.

Loading envelopes in tray 1
Follow these steps to load envelopes in tray 1.

If the product is in PowerSave mode, press OK to wake up the product.
note:
The product will not pull in the paper if it is in PowerSave mode.

Move the paper guides outward so that they are slightly wider than the envelope.

Place a single envelope into the tray 1 slot with the print side facing up and the stamp end in first.

Feed the envelope into the tray as far as it will go until the product pulls the paper.
Loading envelopes in tray 2
Follow these steps to load envelopes in tray 2.

Pull tray 2 out of the product.

Slide the paper guides to their outermost positions.

Remove any paper from the tray.
- Load envelopes in the middle of the tray with the print side facing up and the stamp end in first.
